Final Election Results Released

The County of San Diego Registrar of Voters has released the final results of the 2018 general election. Vista’s newly elected officials will be sworn in at the December 11 City Council meeting at 5:30 pm, with a reception following the ceremony. The City Council will also recognize outgoing Deputy Mayor John Aguilera.

Swearing in Ceremony, December 11

Vista’s newly elected officials will take their oath of office, Tuesday, Dec.,11 at  5:30 p.m. in the City Council chamber. The public is invited to recognize Mayor Judy Ritter and District 4 Council Member John B. Franklin, and Council Member Corinna Contreras during a reception following the swearing in ceremony. Excellence in Economic Development

The new Vista Honda Superstore under construction on W. Vista Way was recognized with an Excellence in Economic Development award by the San Diego North Economic Development Council on December 7. When Norm Reeves Honda opens in spring 2019, the dealership is expected to create 100 local jobs.

Penguin Plunge at The Wave

The Wave Waterpark is holding its first ever Penguin Plunge on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 10 am to 12 pm. This event is free for all participants 42” in height and over. Participants must be willing to slide down the waterslide and plunge into the icy pool to receive a free 2019 Wave admission ticket plus other prizes. Spectators are welcomed and also receive free admission.

Parents Night Out This Saturday

Parents, if you're looking to get some holiday shopping done without the kids or are looking forward to a date night out, take advantage of Parents Night Out! This Saturday, Dec. 15, Recreation invites you to drop the kids off for four hours of activities from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Jim Porter Recreation Center. Just $10 per child.
