The Department is responsible for Human Resources and personnel programs, Risk Management, and special projects. The Department provides day-to-day administration of City personnel programs, including: recruitment and selection of City's employees, classification and compensation plan administration, personnel documents, policies and procedures administration, labor relations, negotiations and grievance resolution, payroll, retirement, group insurance and other benefit administration, centralized City switchboard and reception, training, affirmative action, and Americans with Disabilities (ADA) coordination.

Risk Management

This Division procures and administers City insurance programs including general liability, property, workers compensation, Errors & Omissions, and other coverage. This Division adjusts all claims against the City including investigations, liability analysis, litigation management (with the City Attorney's Office), mediations and settlements. All City contracts are reviewed and approved by Risk Management. Risk also manages Loss Control and Oversight of the City’s safety and administers wellness programs.
