parks closed

Due to the number of people continuing to gather at city parks, athletic fields, and trails, and the increasing difficulty of maintaining a safe 6-foot distance,  all city parks and fields are temporarily closed. The closure is in place to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

stay at home order extended

San Diego County public health officials have issued orders to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus disease, or COVID-19. On March 28, the County extended its order so that it remains in effect until further notice. Residents must continue to stay at home except to take care of essential needs or go to an essential job, and keep 6-foot social distancing.

Because older adults and persons with underlying health conditions are more susceptible to COVID-19, a growing number of grocery stores are dedicating time or opening earlier for senior shoppers and other at-risk groups during the health crisis.

street sweeping

Street sweeping remains in effect at this time, as the City is mandated by the State to clear pollution on streets (stop leaves clogging storm drains). The COVID-19 pandemic is very fluid and there may be changes in the future and the City will notify the public, if so.

During this time, several businesses in North County are hiring to meet the demand of people sheltering at home. Check the online North County employment opportunities.

food bank seeks donations

Donations and volunteers are needed in the warehouse at the North County Food Bank. Contact North County Food Bank to learn about volunteer shifts, donations and food assistance.

vista@home resources for staying healthy

The City's Recreation and Community Services is in the process of collecting and publishing at home resources to help the community stay healthy and active during the pandemic. The resources include exercise tips and soon to come public art stay-at-home projects.
