Post Date:05/11/2020 7:19 AM

The City of Vista has been approved for a $15,000 grant as part of the 2020/21 SDG&E Environmental Champions grant program. The grant award is through the Urban Corps of San Diego.

The grant will fund cleanup and improvement of the Hacienda Biological Preserve Overlay and open area, south of State Route 78. Urban Corps will be providing water quality activities, to provide for the creek and its habitat. The improvements will include removal of trash, debris and other pollutants, such as dead trees obstructing water flow. With funds from a previous Urban Corps grant, the City has planted 84 trees along Hacienda Drive from Pomelo to Carriage Circle.
