City Parks Now Open for Passive Use Only

Post Date:04/24/2020 11:19 AM

City of Vista parks are now opened for passive use.  Park users will be limited to individual/household unit activities, such as walking (dogs on leash permitted), and jogging/running, all with physical distancing.  Group activities and active sports will still not be allowed at this time. Athletic fields, skate parks, park playgrounds, basketball, tennis, pickleball, and bocce ball courts will remain closed. The South Buena Vista Park is also open for the off-leash hours for dogs.

The City encourages park users to also bring disinfectant wipes with them as they visit the park and to ensure children clean hands frequently with soap and water or hand sanitizer. Public health officials recommend using a facial covering while outside. Due to the County Health Order, the park parking lots remain closed.

(Parks open to passive use only: effective April 24, 2020 following the previous COVID-19-related closures on March 30.)
