Mayor's Update for March 16, 2020
MAYOR JUDY RITTER
The top priority for the City of Vista is the health and well-being of our community. The City is closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) spread and is working with County health officials while following their guidance and the restrictions placed by the Federal, State, and County officials put in place to reduce the spread of the virus.
This means we have cancelled all of our recreation, preschool, and senior classes, programs, and activities, and events at the Moonlight and AVO through March 31. At this time, the Civic Center is still open to the public; however, other city facilities, Public Works, Jim Porter Recreation Center, Moonlight Offices, Senior Center, Rancho Buena Vista Adobe, and Fire Stations are closed to the public.
We will continue to update you via our City website, e-alerts and social media on what the City is doing to protect our community. In this time of uncertainty, it is important that we remember our community’s values of providing a welcoming, safe and inclusive community. We are all in this together and we have a role to play. The most important thing community members can do right now is to heed public health recommendations and take specific actions to reduce the spread of the virus. Please get the facts from the federal, state and local official health experts. You can find these on our City website at CityofVista.com. Stay informed. We will pull through this together and rise to the occasion in responding to this challenge. Be safe and well,
