Rancho Minerva Safe Routes To School Corridor Study

Post Date:01/03/2020 7:49 AM

The City of Vista is conducting a Safe Routes to School/Corridor study focusing on Vale Terrace Drive and Foothill Drive. The study will provide guidance for the priorities and actions needed to improve traffic safety and walkability around Rancho Minerva Middle School, located at 2245 Foothill Drive. The study will balance the mobility of various modes, such as automobile, transit, bicycle, and pedestrian connectivity throughout this area.

A Community Workshop will be held on January 21 at the Vista Civic Center. City staff will explain the Corridor Study and gather input from residents on making Vale Terrace Drive and Foothill Drive a more safe and walkable area. On January 24, Vista Unified School District Traffic Safety staff will conduct a walking tour/audit for residents and will seek input on the barriers for students walking and biking to and from the school.
