The City Council will receive an update on medical marijuana from city staff, discuss options for permitting medical marijuana retailers, delivery, cultivation and testing and provide direction back to staff during its February 13 City Council meeting.

Off-Leash Dog Park Discussion on Feb. 17

The Parks & Recreation Commission’s second meeting for the public and park users to provide input on keeping or updating the off-leash ordinance at S. Buena Vista Park is this Saturday, February 17 at 1 pm at S. Buena Vista Park, near the Duck Pond.

Rain's Good. Potholes Aren't

We need the wet weather; however, we also know potholes may occur in our roads after heavy rains. While the City strives to maintain the public roads through annual maintenance, potholes may occur after the rains. If you notice a pothole, let us know! Use the City's ACCESS VISTA mobile app, report a problem hotline (760.639.6177) or online reporting form to report potholes or other local problems needing attention.

Love Your Heart on Valentine’s Day

Getting a blood pressure check is a simple step to take for heart health. The annual Love Your Heart Day takes place on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at more than 150 sites in San Diego County, including 5 sites in Vista. Adults can get a free blood pressure screening.

City Hall Closed February 19

City offices and the Vista Library will be closed Monday, Feb. 19, In observance of the Presidents' Day holiday. Trash collection is on the regular schedule with no delays.

Dr. Bronner’s $75,000 Donation

Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soups has renewed its sponsorship partnership for 2018 in support of the cultural arts programming at the Moonlight Amphitheatre. One of the most important aspects of the $75,000 sponsorship is the underwriting of tickets to events distributed to children and families mainly through the Boys and Girls Clubs. Hundreds of families are able to attend shows at the Moonlight Amphitheatre giving them exposure to the arts, including hands-on participatory activities before shows, a hallmark of the experience of attending a Moonlight Presents event.

Registration Open for Program to Build Character in Youth

The Vista Sheriff’s Junior Deputy Academy begins March 1. The 11-week program is a character-building program for youth between 10 and 16 years. The Academy is free and taught by Vista Sheriff deputies.
