Rain in the Forecast. Be Prepared.

Rain is in the forecast and City Public Works crews have been busy preparing the roads and infrastructure for the winter season. When the rain comes, don’t forget to turn off sprinklers, be aware of slick roads, and turn on headlights while driving in the rain. Free, unfilled sand bags are available for Vista residents at the Public Works facility.

Gain a better understanding of how Vista government works on your behalf. Learn about city growth management, traffic, development, and other issues that impact you. Register for the free Vista Leadership Academy which begins in March.




Commission Votes No on Shadowridge Roundabout

Due to resident opposition, the Traffic Commission did not approve installing a roundabout at Shadowridge Drive and Live Oak Road. The project was proposed as a speed reducing mechanism and to deter stop sign running. The stop signs will remain in place.




Volunteer for a City Commission

The City of Vista has an opening on its Public Arts Commission and the Central Vista Business Improvement District Advisory Board. Application submittals are due January 22, 2018.




ClubM Spotlights Homegrown Actress Bets Malone

Moonlight Amphitheatre's indoor concert venue, the intimate ClubM, launches its cabaret series with popular Vista actress Bets Malone. Malone, who grew-up in Vista and has enjoyed a regional and national career in the theatre, premieres her new cabaret act at ClubM.




City Hall Closed Jan 15

January 8, 2018 l 9:00 am 

In observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, City offices will be closed Monday, January 15. Trash collection is on the regular schedule with no delays that week.



Coastal Rail Closures

January 8, 2018 l 9:00 am  

As part of ongoing infrastructure improvements, there will be no COASTER service Jan 20-21 and Feb 3-4 along the coastal rail corridor.
