City to update general plan, host visioning sessions

VISTA – The City of Vista will host three community visioning sessions in August to garner feedback from residents about the City.
Visioning sessions are slated for Saturday, August 25 from noon to 3 pm at Townsite Community Center, 642 Vista Village Drive; Monday, August 27 from 7 to 9 pm at Rancho Buena Vista High School, 1601 Longhorn Drive; and Thursday, August 30 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Faith Lutheran Church, 700 E. Bobier Drive. Refreshments will be provided at each session and Spanish translation services will be available at the August 25 session.
Community members will be tapped for their thoughts on Vista’s assets and challenges, and will be asked for ideas about Vista’s future. The City will use this information to formulate General Plan goals and objectives that will guide development and redevelopment for the next two decades. Though individual elements of the General Plan have been updated from time to time, this will be the first comprehensive update in the City’s history.
