Youth Advisory Commission
The purpose of the Youth Advisory Commission is to develop mutual understanding and respect between young people and adult citizens of Vista. The Commission’s powers and duties are set forth in Chapter 2.58 of the Vista Municipal Code.
There are seven members and four alternates who serve two-year terms. Members are recruited from a broad cross section of youths, representing public and private schools; as well as intermediate and high schools. Senior Recreation Supervisor Rob Anderson is the Staff Liaison.
Qualifications for Membership
- Registered student, including a student enrolled in a home-school program, who is attending any public or licensed private school, whether it is located within or without of the boundaries of the City of Vista; and
- Successfully completed the sixth grade level, or its equivalent, but not yet reached their 19th birthday.

Meetings
Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. in the Vista Room located on the second floor of the Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Drive, Vista, CA 92084. Agenda inquiries should be directed to: Pat Chapman, Administrative Secretary.
Agendas are posted 72 hours in advance of the Youth Advisory Commission meeting. Minutes are presented to the Commission for approval at the next regular meeting, and are posted after they are approved.
