Vista Citizens Leadership Academy
Spring Academy 2011: Dates to be determined

The Citizens Leadership Academy is a seven-week program held on consecutive Wednesday evenings from 5 to 7:30 p.m., (with the exception of one lunchtime session). The program is designed to give citizens an insider's view of their city government.
Participants will:
- Meet City Council members, department heads and staff
- Tour city facilities and development projects
- Learn how decisions are made, how city funds are allocated and how departments operate
- Discuss important issues such as development, traffic, growth and more
- Meet new people and participate in lively debates and role-playing exercises
- Discuss Vista's history and its future
- Discover how to become more involved in their community.
The Academy is free. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and either a Vista resident or business owner.
