Vista's High-Priority Community Projects

Several high-priority community projects are now either completed or underway in Vista. The City’s first and foremost priority was building and staffing two new fire stations – one in south Vista and one in central Vista. Fire Station No. 5 and No. 6 are now complete and fully operational as of April, 2009. In addition, Fire Station No. 1 was completely renovated and re-opened in May, 2010. The Moonlight Amphitheatre project is also complete and opened for the summer season in July, 2009. The City's Civic Center was opened to the public in June, 2010. All of these community projects have been made possible because of increased revenue provided by Proposition L, a half-cent sales tax increase approved by Vista voters in November 2006.
