This division adjusts all claims against the City including investigations, liability analysis, litigation management (working closely with the City Attorney), mediations and settlements. All City contracts are reviewed and approved by risk management. Responsibilities of this division include loss control and oversight of the City’s safety and wellness programs.
The City of Vista employs a grant writer tasked with identifying and securing grant funding for the City. Over the past three years, more than $4.5 million dollars has been awarded to the City that has resulted in sidewalks, traffic medians, firefighting equipment, new park playground equipment, playing fields and theater productions.
Special Event Permit Information
The City of Vista hosts many special events including a Holiday Parade, classic car shows, street fairs and Vistans ROC. Events must follow certain criteria that are specific to what the event entails. In many cases, a Special Event Permit is required, typically if street closure(s) or other traffic control measures on any public street, sidewalk or alley are needed.
