Proposed New Hotel Coming To Vista
A new 100-room hotel is proposed to be developed on 2.3 acres along W. San Marcos Boulevard. The proposed development for an Ayers Hotel is in the city of Vista limits. The submitted plans indicate a four-story hotel building and meeting rooms. The City Council approved a tentative final subdivision map for the hotel on August 22, 2017.
The city collects Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) which are hotel-occupancy taxes from hotels located in the city. The economic impact of tourism is important to the City of Vista's local economy and the TOT revenues help preserve the city's services and quality of life. The TOT taxes support the City's General Fund budget which provides for public safety, roads, recreational, senior, and youth programs and park amenities.
