City Eligible for Justice Assistance Grant
The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs’ Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) has released an announcement of grant funds available to states and local units of government through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG). The funding distribution is based on population and crime statistics.
The City of Vista is eligible to receive $28,830. The City of Vista has prepared an application for said grant funds, proposing to use the funds to support Community Oriented Policing Strategies, equipment, and training purposes. Comments may also be made at the City Council meeting on August 22, 2017 at 5:30 pm at the Vista Civic Center in the Council Chambers.
