Honda Selects Site for Vista Dealership
The family-owned CAR Group announced earlier this year that it has been selected by Honda to open a dealership in Vista. At that time, the exact site was not yet determined; however, the company has been searching for land near or visible to State Route 78. Currently the CAR Group is in escrow with the owner of the 2.5-acre parcel on West Vista Way, which was home to the Vista Entertainment Center. The owner had been trying to sell the property for over a year and closed the bowling alley in May.
The new Vista dealership, the Norm Reeves Honda Superstore, will be the company’s sixth Honda dealership and will sell new and used cars, and include a parts and service department. Initially the Vista site will hire about 100 people. Sales tax revenues produced from the dealership will be used to support city services such as fire, law enforcement, streets, senior, and youth services. Construction will begin in later summer and the dealership is expected to open in 2019.
