Culture Caravan Trip - Old Fliegler Farm and Bates Nut Farm
- Date: 11/13/2017 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
We’re going back to the farm! We’ll start the day off by gathering fresh fruits and veggies at Old Fliegler’s Farm. The farm is owned by Mark and Arlene, and they are excited to introduce you to their miniature donkeys – Gheppetto, Abu and Jafar, as well as the other animals. You’ll decorate mini pumpkins, and enjoy an organic lunch, farm-to-table style. Please be sure to wear closed-toed shoes, long pants and clothes that can get dirty. Following lunch we’ll head over to Bates Nut Farm. Champions of early California agricultural history, you’ll hear about the Farm history, learn how various nuts are grown and harvested, get a behind the scenes tour of the roasting, packing, and storage area, and much more.
